When

The idea for the AWorld app was born in 2018 by a team of fun-loving people with big dreams and eco-friendly tote bags.

Why

Having spent a career building expertise in fashion, online retail, technology and marketing we wanted to combine this with personal concerns about the state of our planet. What better way to use our energy, enthusiasm and skills than to contribute to solving some of the world’s biggest problems?

A sustainable lifestyle is within reach

We struggled to find an easy way to learn about what incremental changes we can make as individuals; how what we buy as consumers can have an impact; how businesses can do their part to move us along the path to sustainability, while moving along it themselves; how to find the organisations that are positively and tirelessly working to reverse this mess we got ourselves into; and how we can help. This is why we built the AWorld App.

Better together

AWorld’s collaborative platform pulls together the power of businesses, non-governmental organisations and us, the consumers, to effect change. We believe that everyone can move in the direction of sustainable living and join the journey at different points. The main thing is that you are on the journey.

Sustainable Development 

We use the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development goals as a framework for the way we think about our impact and that of the brands and NGOs on the AWorld app. 

The AWorld app is a social platform that helps to drive a sustainable lifestyle that will directly contribute to meeting target 12.8 of the SDGs ensuring that, “by 2030, people everywhere will have the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature”.

How We Select Brands

How We Select Brands

We look for brands with integrity and a clear mission to make the world a better place. Our brands are making concerted and documented efforts to make their production processes and their customer’s consumption more sustainable. Our focus is on small to medium sized brands that don’t always get the sort of recognition that larger brands with larger marketing budgets get. However, we work with much larger brands too. Larger brands have the reach and resources to make sustainable consumption an everyday habit for many more of us.
